FOUR ON THE FLOOR-SACHA DUNABLE OF DUNABLE GUITARS

The Guitar Knobsblog

What are your four ‘must-have’ pedals? That is what we ask our guests to share with you in our Four On the Floor podcast segment.

Sacha Dunable makes some pretty formidable guitars for those who like their soup thick and heavy. If you are not familiar with Dunable Guitars do yourself a favor and check them out. He gave us a fantastic interview too! You can hear the episode for yourself right here. Check out these choices for his Four On The Floor.

1. Way Huge – Saucy Box Overdrive

“It’s kind of like a “Klon” clone that I use like a Tube Screamer in front of a dirty amp. I got it several years ago as I was auditioning drive pedals and this is the one that stuck. The pedal tightens up and compresses the signal more than other overdrives, which results in a sweetened up crunchy tone. I put it in front of my Mesa Boogie Royal Atlantic which is a British voiced Mesa amp and it is magic in front of that thing. This will always be on my board.”

2. Eventide – TimeFactor Delay

“This thing is so versatile and easy to use. There is an app that you can connect via USB and edit all of your patches. you have every type of delay you can think of emulated inside. you can control it with a midi pedal switcher too. It’s really an amazing sounding high-quality pedal. I have not found another delay that does what this can do.”

3. S&K – VHD Pre-amp Distortion

“My buddy Scot DeBockler makes a bunch of awesome drive pedals. his specialty is recreating pre-amp from classic obscure amps. In this case, the VHD is a truly accurate recreation of the Ampeg VH140C, an early solid-state high-gain amp made famous by early 90’s metal bands. Like Pantera but beefy-er.”

4. Dunable – SplatterBlaster Stereo Fuzz and Distortion

“Dunable guitars are diving into the pedal game with this Chicago Music Exchange exclusive pedal. it is a stereo fuzz/distortion pedal. You have two independent circuits. One is like a boosted Super Fuzz, the other side is like an underpowered BOSS Heavy Metal pedal. you can run them parallel in mono into one amp or in stereo. When you mix them together thy kind of fill in each other’s missing frequencies. The combination of these two is quite possibly the heaviest mind melting sound I’ve ever heard in my life. I don’t think there is anything quite as gnarly as this and works great with guitars or bass.”
