FOUR ON THE FLOOR-EDDIE SERRATOS OF MUNICIPAL WATER

The Guitar Knobsblog

What are your four ‘must-have’ pedals? That is what we ask our guests to share with you in our Four On the Floor podcast segment. Eddie loves technical oddities and mechanical bits and his pedal choices reflect that. If you are not familiar with Municipal Water do yourself a favor and check them out. He gave us a fantastic interview too! You can hear the episode for yourself right here. Check out these choices for his Four On The Floor.

1. Digitech XP-100 – Whammy Wah

“I used to be really into Radiohead, like back in the late nineties, I don’t think this is the one that Johnny Greenwood had, but I guess, technically is still the famous Whammy pedal that can shift the pitch. Um, that one’s awesome. And unfortunately, it’s broken for me now. I bought it in 2000 I think and I worked for 15 years. And for the last five, five years, this has just been sitting being a paperweight. It is all digital and tried to fix it but can’t really do it.

2. ProCo – RAT Distortion

“I was late to this one. I used to be really into the Big Muff, and when I finally played the RAT, I loved that thing. I don’t crank the trouble too much. I like the mid-range tones so I tend to like dial back the filter, which is a tone cut.”

3. Boss – DD-3 Digital Delay

“Again, Johnny Greenwood. It works for me and I love it. You can do a lot with it again, especially if you have a Looper or a looping pedal or whatever, you can do a lot with Just that one pedal. I know that they have a bunch of other versions that people rave about, but I’m happy with that one—happy enough to not have tried the other ones.”

4. Line 6 – DL4 Delay Modeler

“This is something that was a paperweight for me for a long time until I actually fixed it. This thing is awesome. It’s broken down on me three times. The first time I sent it Line 6 and they fixed it for like seventy-five bucks. The next time, thanks to YouTube, I figured out how to fix it on my own. I saw the comedian Reggie Watts on some late-night show using it to make some loops and I was like, oh, I gotta get that pedal. And then I found out that the guys from Radiohead had too so…”
