FOUR ON THE FLOOR – DREW WALSH OF WALSH GUITARS

The Guitar Knobsblog

What are your four ‘must-have’ pedals? That is what we ask our guests to share with you in our Four On the Floor podcast segment.

Drew Walsh Makes incredibly unique yet very approachable guitars with just the right amount of flair. He shares his choices for must have pedals here and they are a pretty solid selection. If you are not familiar with Walsh Guitars do yourself a favor and check him out. He gave us a fantastic interview too! You can hear the episode for yourself right here. Check out Drew’s choices for his Four On The Floor.

1. Foxpedal – Kingdom Transparent Overdrive

“I chose this to replace my silver Klon. The Kingdom is pretty much a true recreation of a Klon but with a few extra diode clipping switches. I usually run that pedal fairly clean, just on the edge of breakup along with an amp on the verge of breakup and it’s just great. It’s the perfect pedal for me.”

2. Damage Control – TimeLine

“Strymon was originally called Damage control. This was the original version of the now famous Strymon Timeline. They were known for putting tubes in their pedal and they would light up in crazy colors. The tubes were just there for looks I think, I’m pretty sure they didn’t do anything but they looked awesome. I controlled it with a Rocktron Midimate which had about 12 presets. I’m usually setting ambient tones so it was just great.”

3. Strymon – BigSky Reverb

“I have a studio pedalboard and a live pedalboard. I keep the big sky on the studio board. The capabilities of this pedal are ridiculous. Massive space, Shimmer, spring, whatever you want. It covers so much ground.”

4. Sonic Research – ST-300 Turbo Tuner

“I know this is not necessarily an effect but I use my turbo tuner for everything. It’s not a true strobe like a Peterson, but a faux strobe that functions in a similar way. To my knowledge, it is the most accurate pedal version of a tuner you can buy.”
