What are your four ‘must-have’ pedals? That is what we ask our guests to share with you in our Four On the Floor podcast segment.

Johnny Wator makes pedals for Rock N’ Roll. Period. If you want the spot on raw sound of the early guitar gods Daredevil delivers. If you are not familiar with Daredevil Pedals do yourself a favor and check him out. He gave us a fantastic interview too! You can hear the episode for yourself right here. Check out Johnny’s choices for his Four On The Floor.

1. Univox – Super Fuzz

“There is so much clipping and variances in there, and when you amplify that, all those variances really make a difference. It has tons of textury, smashy chaos going on but it’s still really fat, with a lot of warm low end. It has all the qualities you want in a fuzz but also kinda out of control at the same time, kinda like something is broken. I like that.”

2. MXR – Phase 90 Script Logo Phaser

“I have a lot of phasers, but I always go back to that. It’s just the sound I have always had.”

3. Vox – King Wah pedal

“I’ve always had an old-school wah on my board; recently my buddy gave me a Vox King Wah. I really love it. It’s weird. It just has that thing. It’s huge and really powerful.”

4. Gary Hurst – MKI Tone Bender Fuzz

“That is the ideal fuzz sound. Mick Ronson had the perfect fuzz sound that I love. It just crushes. Keep your amp clean and load it with this fuzz. Loads of cool nuances.”
